Custom Magnetic Leads and Lanyards

We all have at one time bought a lead or lanyard, but now you can get one that functions as either one. This is the best idea I have seen in some time. A magnetic lanyard / lead combo. From now on you have the best of both worlds, no need to carry both with you. This is one of those "gotta have" items. Sit back and check out the video on how cool this item is. You can get more info on this magnetic lead and other hand made leads by clicking the link below.

Kids & German Shorthairs

This is one of those unforgettable photos of the kids with their favorite puppy. This one is a little different though. This Shorthair, "Brownie" was dumped off at a kill shelter because of problems of disliking children.
Brownie is a rescue dog took in by Stacy Hamilton. The little girl hugging Brownie is her niece Mackenzie, Brownie seems OK with it all. Just goes to show how dogs are a product of their environment. I always like doing the posts with the kids, they are a great deal like the dogs, total honesty.

German Shorthair Field Champs

A friend, Ann Spiegel just recently attended  a trial at the Visla Club Of Greater Clevelands spring horseback field trial in Dresden Ohio. Ann entered her young male Shorthair, Jesse. Here's how things went for  them. Jesse placed second in the Amatuer Limited Gun Dog Stake, which is a retrieving stake and won a 4 point major in the Open Gun Dog stake. Ann has been trialing Jesse since his puppy days with numerous wins to his credit.
If you want a some more information on this classy young Shorthair just click on the link below.
Ann has a fall breeding planned, you may want to contact her to get one of these champion caliber puppies.

Kids And Their German Shorthairs

I thought this would be a cool subject. We don't see this often enough, photos of the kids with the families Shorthairs. This particular young man is posing with his Palm Glades German Shorthair. Just shows what great family pets these dogs make, besides being wonderful hunting companions.  I think it would be fun to do a series of photos with the kids and their pointers. Send us your pics and some info. and we will show it off for you.

Leather Collars For Your German Shorthair

Are you looking for a new collar? These leather collars from Gun Dog Supply are just the ticket. The selection is large and many of the collars come with a free I.D. tag. I like leather collars, they are like dressing up for your dog. I use the bright orange when I'm out in the woods hunting, but I like the leather for all the other times. The price range will suit just about every ones needs.

German Shorthair Exercise

Here is a friend Ann Spiegel giving one of her dogs some exercise. Ann does field trials and a physically fit dog is very important. I have added a video of Ann's just to show you something absolutely spectacular. I don't think I have ever had a dog in this shape. This dog can flat out fly, so sit back and watch. You won't be disappointed. Ann has other Shorthair videos as well and you can find them on You Tube.

German Shorthair For Sale

Many times over the years I asked myself if I should buy a trained dog or just do it myself.  I think buying a trained Shorthair has many advantages. For one, the dog already has been exposed to birds and shot. A place where many of us have dropped the ball. Your time is also a factor, especially if you live in the city. If you have the land, time, birds and knowledge training your own may be quite rewarding and just plain fun. Now if you don't have all the things mentioned above, have a look at this gorgeous female from Palm Glades Shorthairs. She is sure to please.
FOR SALE: PALM GLADES SHE'S NO ANGEL - Angel is a fully trained GSP female. She loves to hunt and points with great style, backs and retrieves. She is OFA Certifed (hips screened for dysplasia). Both of Angel's parents are AKC Field & Amateur Field Champions: Field & Amateur Field Champion Palm Glades Shameless Lenny and FIeld & Amateur Field Champion Palm Glades Abby Von Grief. Lenny's sire is a National Field Champion, NFC FC LB's Ohi Shameless and Lenny's dam, Palm Glades Breezy, was the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America's 2005 'Top Field Producing Dam of The Year'. Lenny tied for the GSPCA's 'Top Field Producing Sire' for 2009. Angel is seven years young and is looking for a good home and hunting companion.

German Shorthair Puppy Pictures

This is one of my favorite puppy photos ever. How anyone can get this many Shorthairs to sit for a photograph must be some kind of world record. This bunch is from the "Shallowford Shorthairs" in North Carolina. So if you happen to be in the market for a new pup, check Shallowford  Shorthairs out, they look like some great pups to me.
